GreenGym Raises the Bar and Sets the Standard!
GreenGym cares about the safety of everyone who uses our equipment from children to seniors. We are in an exclusive position with our standards for outdoor fitness equipment, having pioneered a new set of standards with leading Canadian safety experts.
GreenGym is the ONLY Company in Canada that has the hands on experience with outdoor fitness equipment. Beyond our installed fitness parks we are the only company who temporally installed more than 40 parks in trade shows, public events, schools and kids’ fairs across the country. From Victoria to NS we have traveled with our equipment and provided hands on experience for thousands of people.
During the last year we have filmed and photographed thousands of images and movies of people using the fitness equipment. We have tested, researched, documented and analyzed thousands of people who have used our equipment and created a unique design that provide the highest safety standard in Canada. The desing of our units, their original drawing and safety components are protected by the Canadian copyright, intellectual property and industrial design protection act. Although their are no current safety standards for outdoor fitness equipment GreenGym has created its own safety standards you need!
Our equipment has gone through rigorous testing for your peace of mind. We have also designed our equipment to incorporate expert advice about fitness and key elements of the inclusive fitness initiative so that people of all abilities can benefit from it.
Outdoor gym equipment is a new concept for Canada. When we introduced the equipment to Canada there was no precedence on which standards we should apply to the equipment. For that reason we turned to Canadian’s leading safety experts for advice.
The overall concept of outdoor gyms is that they are free and accessible to all and don’t need to be managed similar to a playground. As anyone can access them including children we felt it was vital to have the playground standards applied to the equipment. This meant removing any crush or pinch points, head entrapments, sharp edges, toggle traps, so that land owners had peace of mind when placing our gyms outside. Some other Canadian companies would argue that placing non compliant equipment outside a specified boundry surrounding a playground is sufficient and the age limitation signs they place on the equipment will prevent kids to use the equipment. We do not agree. In our experience children are automatically attracted to the equipment and you can not count on them adhering to warning signs. We welcome young people into our gyms with the knowledge that we have done our very best to eliminate any potential hazards.
Why the CSA CAN/CSA-Z614-07 is not enough?
The CSA CAN/CSA-Z614-07 was originated for playground equipment and the experts who created the standard never took under consideration many components that exist in outdoor fitness equipment as they were not aware of its existence. These components include many moving parts and moving functions.
Until the Canadian standard association will develop a new standard for outdoor fitness equipment buyers of such equipment should examine all suppliers and compare all the safety features they provide. Do not compromise on safety and quality issues.
We are proud to say that GreenGym provide the highest safety protection in Canada and around the world.

When deciding on your fitness equipment providers consider this:
1.
Have you seen the supplier’s actual equipment in a trade show or do you just have their catalogue?
2.
Have you touched or used their equipment hands on, or again did you just see the equipment in a catalogue
or on a website?
3.
Does the supplier have any parks installed and what are the responses from the community?
4.
What warranty do they provide you and do they stand behind it.
5.
Check with your insurance company and make sure the supplier has their own product liability insurance.
6.
Don’t be tempted by price be motivated by safety. No amount of money saved is worth one injury.
